Benefits of silicon for plants

Silicon is a naturally occurring substance found in soils. It is used by plants to strengthen their cell walls, which then increases the plant’s resistance to fungi and insects. This stimulant helps to create noticeably stronger, thicker stems and roots, and helps with nutrient uptake and CO2 absorption. It helps reduce water loss through leaves (transpiration), which can help prevent wilting. Note that while most silica products are highly alkaline, Rhino Skin is not. Many manufacturers use potassium silicate as a pH raiser. However, since the supplement has a neutral pH of 5.7, it is not suitable for this purpose.
